MAC Viva Glam is not just another line of lipsticks and lip glosses. Every penny of the $14.50 that these lip products cost goes directly to the MAC AIDS Fund. Over the years, celebrities such as Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin (the latest spokespeople for Viva Glam), Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper, Christina Aguilera, RuPaul, Fergie, Mary J. Blige, Sir Elton John, Pamela Anderson, Missy Elliot, Shirley Manson, Boy George, Eve, and my favorite… Dita Von Teese, have helped promote MAC’s Viva Glam products to raise awareness and bring in over $2 million dollars to support people of all ages, sexes, and races living with AIDS.
The new Nicki Minaj lipstick and Ricky Martin lip conditioner will be out very soon! I will try to get ahold of those shortly to give you all a sneak peek!

Without further ado, here are the photos and descriptions of all of these awesome lipsticks and lip glosses…
Viva Glam I (Matte): This was the first of the Viva Glam lipsticks. It’s a rich, “intense brownish blue-red”… My favorite lipstick of all time! It looks fantastic on all skin tones and ages. Since it’s a matte, it’s highly pigmented and wears well for 4-6 hours. It’s perfect when paired with Brick lip pencil. I like to rock this with some winged eye liner for a pin-up type look.
Viva Glam II (Satin): Viva Glam II is described as a “muted pink-beige with shimmer”. It’s definitely a much more tones down lipstick than the first in the Viva Glam line. I would consider this a neutral, pinky nude. It’s not so nude that it will make you look washed out or anything and it’s suitable for all skin tones. The color payoff is really nice for a satin and the shimmer is subtle and just adds a nice shine. My favorite lip pencils to use with this are Stripdown and Subculture.
Viva Glam III (Matte): This is the darkest lipstick in the whole Viva Glam line. It’s a matte, so it has a deep, intense color payoff. Viva Glam III is a “muted brownish-plum” with a hint of a wine color to it (if you ask me). It’s gorgeous on deeper skin tones, but can also be worn by pasty people (like me)! This makes an awesome dark lip to pair with a smokey eye for a fun look reminiscent of the 20’s and 30’s.
Viva Glam IV (Frost): One of my FAVORITE Viva Glam lipsticks! This is my second tube of it. It’s a lovely “mid-tone rose with gold pearl” and looks awesome on everyone. I usually wear Whirl or Dervish lip pencil with this. It’s nice because it adds shine and a warm rosy color to the lips without being too outrageous, no matter what your skin tone is.
Viva Glam V (Lustre): As a Lustre finish, this is one of the more sheer lipsticks in the Viva Glam line, but as you can tell from the flat, used up appearance, it’s one of my favorites. It looks natural on everyone and is a “neutral pink with pearl”. It’s like your own lips, but better. Viva Glam V is the lipstick that I use the most on a daily basis. You can pop this on with some powder, blush and mascara and walk out the door with that nice “no-makeup makeup” look. Whirl, Soar, or Subculture lip pencil can be used with this, depending on the natural color of your lips.
Viva Glam VI: Viva Glam VI is also a Lustre finish, but it’s not quite as neutral as it’s predecessor. It is a “terracotta-plum with pearl”, so it’s a warm reddish plum with a slight shimmer/sheen. It’s not thick or highly pigmented but will give you a natural looking color to the lips without being over the top. It’s a great lipstick for daytime or work.
Viva Glam V: This is a “neutral pink with pearl”… It’s a bit on the nude side of pinks and doesn’t quite have shimmer, the pearl is very subtle but this is a gorgeous lip glass. As with the Viva Glam V lipstick, this is one of my most used lip glasses. It’s nicely pigmented and wears well. Love love love!
Viva Glam VI: The description of this lip glass being a “warm plum with pearl” is completely accurate. It’s a gorgeous, warm plummy pink with a slight shimmer. It’s got good color payoff for a shimmery lip glass and looks great over the Viva Glam Vi lipstick and Dervish lip pencil.
Viva Glam Gaga Lipsticks & Lipglasses
I am totally scatter-brained and I accidentally deleted the swatches of the Viva Glam Gaga lipsticks. Oops! I’ll post some as soon as I get up tomorrow. Sorry!!
Viva Glam Gaga (Lustre): As bright and intimidating as this lipstick looks in the tube, it’s slightly more sheer and subdued on the lips. It’s described as a “light blue-pink”, which is pretty accurate. It is a bright light pink, but not so bright that it’s hard to rock on a daily basis or with some skin tones… This really does look awesome on everyone I’ve ever seen wear it. It’s nicely pigmented for a Lustre finish and the cooler tones pink makes your teeth look nice and white! As a limited edition color, Viva Glam Gaga disappeared for a while but has made a brief comeback! Whatever is available online and at MAC counters and stores will most likely not be replenished once it’s gone this time, so get it while you can!
Viva Glam Gaga II (Amplified): This “light neutral beige” lipstick is highly pigmented and applied true to the color it is in the tube. It’s smooth and wears well for 6 or so hours since it’s an Amplified finish (which is one of my favorites). It’s on the warm side of the neutral spectrum so it’s a good nude for nearly everyone. It’s not the type of nude that will make you look like you’re one of the living dead, so that’s a plus! Those are hard to find (for a pasty, pale person like me anyway). It looks perfect with Stripdown or Subculture lip pencil. This is a limited edition color and will most likely disappear not long after the release of the new Viva Glam Nicki lipstick.
Viva Glam Gaga: This lipglass is very similar to the matching lipstick. It’s a light, bright blue-pink with good color payoff and a thick, creamy texture. I like to wear this over the Viva Glam Gaga lipstick or by itself. This was a limited color and has been discontinued. Sadface!
Viva Glam Gaga II: Also very similar to the lipstick of the same name, it’s slightly warmer and has a very subtle hint of shimmer. This is still around online and at most MAC locations but I’m not sure how long it will be around, as the newest Viva Glam line will be out soon!
